Chris Alexander's Star Wars Origami! CELEBRATION III - Indianapolis, IN April 23, 2005 - JABBA THE HUTT See a Special Gift from Chris, the Origami Guy! By L. Mangue Star Wars Celebration III was a great opportunity to meet and get to know a wide range of people from all over the world. Among the many people I met over the four jam-packed days at CIII was Chris Alexander of Star Wars Origami. Chris is an incredibly creative man with an eye for detail and a gifted sense of the art of origami. Chris's interest in this art form can be credited to his mother, Jan, when Chris was only four. He was a quick learning natural and has been folding these delicate and decorative objects ever since. I'd like to share with you just a small selection of photographs taken of the life-sized Jabba the Hutt that was folded by a group of volunteers from the convention and Chris himself. Jabba the Hutt, among other folds, were auctioned off to the highest bidder at the convention in order to raise money for Koret House in San Francisco, California. Each fold was signed by a variety of Star Wars celebrity guests including Toby Philpott and David Barclay (pictured below), who both worked at bringing Jabba the Hutt to life in Return of the Jedi. Please, enjoy the photographs and visit Chris at Star Wars Origami to see more of his incredible work! Photos by L. Mangue
